Resolution of precision rotary potentiometer

The resolution of potentiometer is also called resolution. For wire wound potentiometer, the output voltage changes discontinuously every time the moving contact moves. The ratio of the change to the output voltage is resolution. The theoretical resolution of linear winding potentiometer is the reciprocal of the total winding turns N and expressed in percentage. The more turns the potentiometer has, the higher the resolution will be.            

Nomenclature and Marking Method of Precision Rotating Potentiometer            

1) The nomenclature of precision rotary potentiometer is the same as that of resistance, but begins with the letter W.            

2) The marking method of precision rotary potentiometer: potentiometers generally use the direct marking method. On the shell of potentiometer, letters and numbers are used to mark their type, nominal power, resistance value, the relationship between resistance value and rotation angle, etc. For example, WT-II-1-1k-X potentiometer is expressed as single carbon film potentiometer type II with a power of 1W, a resistance of 1K and a straight line curve.
