Classification of thumbwheel potentiometer:            

Metal glass glazed thumbwheel potentiometer: It not only has the advantages of organic solid core potentiometer, but also has smaller resistance temperature coefficient (similar to wire wound potentiometer), but also has large dynamic contact resistance and equivalent noise resistance, so it is mostly used for semi-fixed resistance adjustment. This kind of potentiometer has developed rapidly, and its ability to withstand temperature, humidity and load shock has been improved. It can work reliably under harsh environmental conditions.            

Conductive plastic potentiometer: wide range of resistance, high linear accuracy, strong resolution, and long wear-resistant life. Although the temperature coefficient and contact resistance of the finger wheel potentiometer are large, it can still be used in the simulation and servo system of the automatic control instrument.            

Digital thumbwheel potentiometer: potentiometer made by integrated circuit technology; a series of resistors are integrated into a chip, and the resistors are controlled by MOS transistors in series.            

The network is connected with the public terminal; the control accuracy is determined by the bit number of the control, generally 8, 10, 12 bits; it can be used in analog circuit to do impedance matching, magnification control of amplification circuit, etc. It avoids the trouble of jitter adjustment operation, and provides a convenient way for automatic gain, voltage change, impedance matching of equipment.
