Resistance Marking Method of 10,000K Audio Potentiometer
Date:2019-03-12 Views:302

The 10,000 audio potentiometer is also called potentiometer. It is called potentiometer differently in the industry. In fact, it refers to a product. At the same time, some people think that the 10,000K audio potentiometer and some parameters of potentiometer are different. In fact, the small edition here can tell you that the identification method and potentiometer of 10,000 audio potentiometer are the same, because they are all the same products, and their resistance value is the same. The same is true of identification methods. Now let's have a little tape to explain.

The specifications of 10,000 audio potentiometers are usually directly marked. The contents of the general marks include the types, models, nominal resistances and rated power of potentiometers. That is to say, letters and Arabic numerals are directly labeled on potentiometers. Sometimes potentiometers also label the output characteristics of potentiometers (D for logarithm, Z for exponent, X for linearity).

Nominal resistance

The series of nominal resistance values labeled on the product is similar to the series of resistors.

1. Character Symbol Method: Arabic numerals and character numbers are combined regularly to represent the nominal resistance value, and the allowable deviation is also represented by character symbols. The number in front of the symbol represents the integer resistance value, and the number in the back represents the first decimal resistance value and the second decimal resistance value in turn.

Text character numbers representing allowable errors

Text symbol D F G J K M

The allowable deviation is (+0.5%+1%+2%+5%+10%+20%).

2. Direct labeling: Resistance values are marked on the surface of resistors with numbers and unit symbols. Permissible errors are expressed directly in percentages, e.g. +20%

3. Color labeling method: labeling the nominal resistance value and allowable deviation on the surface of resistors with different color bands or points.

4. Digital method: The deviation is usually expressed by digital symbols. Unit is Europe. Generally, it is expressed by three or four digits, such as 150, which is 150_, the first two digits which are the valid digits, and the third digit which is the number of 0 after the valid digits. If 4 digits, the first 3 digits represent significant digits.

Rated power

The rated power is the power of the potentiometer in normal operation. The maximum resistance is the product of the current passing through the potentiometer in normal operation and the voltage applied at both ends of the potentiometer. The rated power of a potentiometer is marked W.

The Law of Resistance Change

The relationship between the resistance and the rotating angle of the slider contact (or the sliding stroke) can be in any functional form. There are linear, logarithmic and inverse logarithmic (exponential) formulas in common use.            Permissible error level

The error range between measured resistance and nominal resistance can be allowed to be 1%, 5%, 10% and 20% according to different precision grades.

The above subsections have explained in detail some conventional identification methods of 10,000 audio potentiometers. Because there are several types of 10,000 audio potentiometers, they can not be explained one by one. Generally speaking, the identification methods of parameters are similar, but there may be slightly different individual parameters.
