1. Working Principle and Common Parameters of Displacement Sensorasy to install and use, suitable for many dangerous occasions, and widely used in the field of measurement.

The function of displacement sensor is to convert mechanical motion into electrical signals that can be measured, recorded or transmitted. The displacement sensor consists of a stretchable stainless steel rope wound around a threaded hub connected to a precision rotary inductor, which can be an incremental encoder, an absolute (independent) encoder, a mixed or conductive plastic linear rotary potentiometer, a synchronizer or an analyzer.

Operationally, the displacement sensor is installed in a fixed position and the pull rope is tied to the moving object. Linear motion of the rope and alignment of the moving object's motion axes. When exercise occurs, the pull rope stretches and contracts. An internal spring ensures that the tension of the cable remains unchanged. The threaded hub drives a precision linear rotary potentiometer to output an electrical signal proportional to the distance of the rope. The displacement, direction or speed of a moving object can be obtained by measuring the output signal.

Common parameters include measuring stroke, output signal mode, linearity, repeatability, resolution, line diameter specification, outlet tension, maximum round-trip speed, weight, input resistance value, power, working voltage, working temperature, vibration, protection level, etc.

2. Signal Output Mode of Displacement Sensor

The output mode of displacement sensor signal can be divided into digital signal output and analog signal output. The digital output type can choose incremental linear rotary potentiometer, absolute encoder, etc. The output signal is square wave ABZ signal or Gray code signal. The maximum stroke can be 10,000 mm, the maximum linear accuracy is 0.01%, and the resolution can reach 0.001 mm/pulse according to different configurations.

The analog output type can choose precise potentiometer, Hall encoder, absolute value encoder, etc. The output signal can be 4-20 mA, 0-5 volt, 0-10 volt, serial SSI and resistance signal. The maximum stroke can reach 12 500 mm, the maximum operating environment can reach the protection level of IP65, and it can be used in wide temperature environment ranging from -45 C to + 105 C.

3. Cautions for Use and Installation

(1) Four fixed screw holes at the bottom of the bracket are used for direct installation or additional protection or other mechanical use, depending on the needs of field and machine installation space facilities.

(2) When installing stainless steel cables, attention should be paid to the horizontal angle, i.e. the mechanism from the outlet to the moving part of the cables should slide horizontally while working, and keep the minimum angle (tolerance +/-30) to ensure the measurement accuracy and the service life of the cables.

(3) The main body of the cables is stainless steel coated with fluorine. Do not let improper incidents such as cuts, burns and impacts caused by external forces occur: excessive dust, debris or objects enough to destroy the cables are stored in the pulleys or outlets of the cables, which will cause cable damage and lead to malfunctioning.

(4) Do not pull the cables out with your hands or other products and let them bounce back instantaneously without installing them on the workbench or fixed seat. This will cause the cables to break and damage the body structure and personal safety.

(5) The instantaneous acceleration of reciprocating motion of MPS-S and MPS-M series products must not exceed 1 m/s; the instantaneous acceleration of reciprocating motion of MPS-L and MPS-L-P series products must not exceed 0.5 m/s; this will cause the breakage of steel cables, and the company will not assume responsibility outside this range.

(6) If it is used in non-linear motion mechanism, please install proper pulley to run.

(7) If it is used in harsh environment or special occasions, please install protective agencies or contact the manufacturer to avoid causing losses.
